Weakness & Muscle Atrophy
Muscle atrophy is the loss of skeletal muscle mass that can be
caused by immobility, aging, malnutrition, medications, or a wide range of injuries or diseases that impact the musculoskeletal or nervous system. Muscle atrophy leads to muscle weakness and causes disability.
Physical therapy is very effective in treating muscle weakness and atrophy with specifically designed therapeutic exercises. Over time these exercises will help address strength and muscles mass, while improving functional loss and pain that is often associated with this condition.
