TMJ Dysfunction

Temporomandibular joint disorder, or dysfunction, (TMD) is a common condition that limits the natural functions of the jaw, such as opening the mouth and chewing.
Physical Therapy is great treatment option for TMJ pain.
Manual physical therapy includes hands on techniques to improve joint motion and reduce muscle stiffness, trigger points around the jaw to alleviate stress on the disk and joint. Modalities are often helpful for pain as well as addressing underlying postures and habits that are impacting the TMJ.
