Neurological Disorders

Physical therapy can be very beneficial for individuals with neurological disorders such as ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Alzheimer’s disease, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Migraines, Multiple sclerosis, Muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, stroke, and traumatic brain injury. Depending on the type of neurological condition the patient has, movement problems can get worse as the disease progresses.

Physical therapists will evaluate your symptoms and design an appropriate course of treatment to improve movement, strength, balance, and stretching. Physical therapy can't stop these conditions or their effects on movement entirely, but it can help slow down their progression.
