Balance problems can be caused by a variety of factors such as muscle weakness, joint stiffness, inner ear problems, medications, and lack of activity. It can also be caused by medical conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, cognitive diseases, eye diseases, and vestibular problems.

Gait dysfunctions, changes in walking pattern, are typically related to disease or abnormality in another area of the body.

Physical therapists will assess your balance/gait and identify the root cause of your dysfunction. An individualized treatment plan to address your specific needs and goals. Treatment will help to improve mobility, balance, strength, movement, flexibility, posture, and activity level.
